Position Title Skilled Labourer – Central Crew

Employment: Full time, Permanent

Reporting to: Group Facilities & Asset Manager

Location To be available to work at all TriCare sites (25+). Location of work determined by priority of work or instruction from Group Facilities & Asset Manager

Fleet Vehicle Provided

Other Requirements: Pre-employment medical assessment is required

Job Purpose

To complete all tasks within allocated timeframes with the minimum disruption to staff and residents at TriCare facilities.

Main Duties

• General labouring work as instructed.

• Removal and dumping of rubbish and unwanted materials from facilities as directed.

• Assist other trades when required:

  • Plumber

– excavation of trenches for drainage repair and installation

– excavation and locating damaged pipework

– chasing into masonry walls for new pipework installation etc.

– assisting installation and removal of heat pumps and hot water units.

• Assist the Maintenance Operators at each facility with specific tasks when instructed (where 2 pairs of hands are required).

• Site maintenance assistance while maintenance operators on leave (Gold Coast and Brisbane Metro)

• Pickup and delivery of equipment and materials to various facilities.

• Provide labour for ground maintenance as required (i.e. spreading mulch, delivering and spreading soil).

• Ensuring Work Requests and associated paperwork is completed and accurate.

• Undertake tasks to improve the visibility and appeal of TriCare’s facilities (i.e. pressure cleaning and sweeping paths, driveways and car parks)

• Undertake any other duties as reasonably directed within the limits of the employee’s skills, competence and training.

• Undertake any special projects as requested by the Group Facilities & Asset Manager and the Directors

• Clean and maintain equipment, tools, vehicle, storage areas and workshop areas.

Skills and Knowledge

• Sound understanding and knowledge of building, equipment and general maintenance is required.

• Carpentry knowledge is required

• Displayed knowledge of hand and power tools

• Physically fit and able to work in maintenance/labouring environment.

• Ability to patch, plaster and paint is essential

• Ability to tile and grout is essential

• Basic use of emails and spreadsheets are required (Ability to use an iPad or similar is desirable).

• Use of various time tracking programs/applications

• Current open manual Australian Driver’s licence

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience working within an Aged Care or Retirement Living environment is desirable.

• Experience working within an equipment/building maintenance environment.

• Ability to work in a team environment.

• Police check with no criminal convictions.
