November 19th marks International Men’s Day, a global celebration of the positive value men bring to the world, their families, and communities. At TriCare Aged Care Residences and Retirement Living, we take this opportunity to honour the remarkable men who call our aged care residences and retirement villages home.
A Lifetime of Wisdom and Contribution
Many of the gentlemen in our aged care residences and retirement community have lived extraordinary lives, as fathers, grandfathers, tradesmen, teachers, veterans, volunteers, and leaders and more. Their stories are woven into the fabric of our society, and today we pause to reflect on their achievements, resilience, and the wisdom they continue to share.
Whether it’s a quiet chat over morning tea, a shared laugh during a game of cards, or a heartfelt story from years gone by, these moments remind us of the richness of life and the importance of connection.
Supporting Men’s Wellbeing
International Men’s Day also shines a light on men’s health and wellbeing. At TriCare Aged Care Residences and Retirement Living, we’re committed to supporting our male residents with tailored programs that promote physical activity, mental health, and social engagement. From men’s groups, gardening clubs and walking groups to storytelling sessions and barbecues, we create spaces where men can thrive, connect, and feel valued.
A Day of Celebration
Across our Retirement villages and Aged Care residences, we’ll be marking the day with special events, from morning teas and trivia to music performances and memory-sharing activities. It’s a chance for everyone to come together, celebrate, and show appreciation for the men who have shaped our communities.
